Principal's Information

Mr. Lonnie Keeter
Mr Keeter was drafted in the third round by the Boston Red Sox after graduating from high school in Portland Oregon. While playing professional baseball, Lonnie pursued his college diploma and graduated from Oregon State University with a BA in English Education. Mr. Keeter began his teaching career in Oregon as a high school English teacher and baseball coach. Lonnie decided to pursued a college baseball coaching career after 4 years of teaching in Oregon and became an assistant baseball coach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Two years later, Keeter was hired as the head baseball coach at the University of Utah, where he achieved National recognition as the WAC Coach of the Year in 1985. Lonnie continued his baseball coaching career as a hitting coach for the San Diego Padres from 1987-1993. Keeter made a career change in 1993 back to education when he was hired a as an English teacher at Apple Valley High School. Lonnie came to the Victor Valley Union High School District in 2000 as an English teacher at Victor Valley High School. Three years later, Lonnie went into administration an Assistant Principal at VVHS. Keeter spent 3 years as an AP and then became the 9th grade principal at Victor High School. Two years later, Lonnie became the principal at Cobalt Middle School and remained until being hired as Lakeview's principal in July 2012. Keeter has 23 years of educational experience and has a Master's Degree in Education as well as a Clear Administrative Credential. Lonnie and his wife Marcia, have three children; Tom, Andrew and Maggie. Their favorite pastime is playing golf and walking their two dogs, Toby and Allee.
